Excel Center for Educational Leadership, or Excel PH, was born out of what founder Kai Pastores-Keh and her husband Harvey perceived as a gap in Philippine public education--leadership development for the principals. Often, most of the resources that go to public schools from private institutions support the students, parents, teachers, or infrastructure. Principals, the head of the school tasked with ensuring quality education for students, receive less support, when in fact they have a critical role in school development.

The pilot batch was held in La Union, where 31 school heads and teachers underwent the first Leadership Development Program (LDP), Excel's core program. Since then, Excel PH has been striving to improve the LDP, consulting various stakeholders including the Department of Education in our quest to provide a meaningful program for our Fellows.
